How to generate logs for users who have policies assigned

If you have a policy assigned to you, and need to generate the logs for troubleshooting, then please:

DataAlign

  1. Create a text file at the root of drive (C:\). If you cannot create it due to security reasons, then create it in another location (Desktop for example), and copy/paste it to drive (C:\).
  2. Rename the file to be EnableCloudLog.txt
    Important: 
    Make sure that the extensions of the files are not hidden before you rename the file, as explained here.
  3. Right-click on the DataAlign icon in the system tray (Taskbar), and select the Exit option.
    If you don’t have the DataAlign icon in the system tray, then from the Task Manager(Ctrl+Alt+Del) → Go to the Processes tab → End the DataAlign .exe process.
  4. Start DataAlign again. (Start menu → All Programs → DataAlign → DataAlign )
  5. Replicate the issue/scenario multiple of times.
  6. Copy/paste the following URL into your Windows explorer address bar, and hit Enter:
    %appdata%\DataAlign \Jobs\{6E820F39-1F0F-4C22-A9F6-5E7CAE6F6FA7}
  7. Copy the Logs folder to a known location, such as the Desktop → Compress the folder to .zip and send it to us.
  8. Refer to this location: C:\Program Files\DataAlign 2 → Copy the Logs folder from there to another location→ Compress it, and send it to us.

 

You can follow the steps in this article if you are not able to get in to DataAlign dashboard, but instead of step 3 and 4 above, you can just reboot your machine.

DataAlign Cloud Backup

  4. Start DataAlign Cloud Backup again. (Start menu → All Programs → DataAlign Cloud Backup → DataAlign Cloud Backup )
  5. Replicate the problem.
  6. Now, copy/paste the following URL into your Windows explorer address bar, and hit Enter:

  7. Copy the Logs folder to a known location (Such as the Desktop) → Compress the folder to .zip and send it to the support.
  8. Refer to this location: C:\Program Files\DataAlign Cloud Backup  → Copy the Logs folder from there to another location → Compress the folder to .zip and send it to the support.
